Georgia state-trainee real property appraiser applicants must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Be a high school graduate or the holder of a certificate of equivalency
Successfully complete a 90-hour curriculum approved by the Appraisers Board that includes 15 hours of education in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), and an AQB approved Supervisory/Trainee course
Pass the required Appraisal proctored l examination(s)
Obtain a Georgia criminal back ground report

Each active appraiser must complete 14 Hours of Continuing Education for Each Yearly Renewal Period. Effective 2003, the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) and the Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board (GREAB) require that appraisers complete a 7-hour national USPAP course, or its equivalent, every two years.
